Thanks for having me here today. As many of you know, I write a series about a demon slayer who is teamed up with a gang of geriatric biker witches. A few booksellers have asked why I felt the need to add werewolves to the mix and the answer is easy – they’re interesting, mysterious and boy, do they look good in leather.

Dangerous Book For Demon HuntersPlus, I needed a friend for my hero, who is a shapeshifting griffin. Griffins are rare, so I couldn’t have them populating the books. Plus, griffins make perfect romantic heroes because they’re intensely loyal and griffins mate for life. In fact, because of this, griffins were the symbol of marriage and fidelity in the medieval Church. So I wanted a strong, loyal griffin for my heroine, but he needed a history and friendships of his own. It made sense that his best friend would be someone who is like him – loyal, intense and strong. And of course JR just happens to be a werewolf. JR understands Dimitri on both a human and an animal level.

  6. Hi Becky! Yes, griffins are intensely loyal and mate for life. Even if their mate dies, they don’t move on (which actually makes me a bit sad to think about). Luckily, Lizzie the heroine isn’t going anywhere. And I couldn’t think of a better shapeshifter to have as the hero in this series.

    Congrats on your demon slayer score – 82%. I’ll bet that’s going to be the high score of the day. You’re a natural!
