I’ve been on vacation–to Yellowstone and Montana. We used to live in Montana and to be perfectly honest, I was not 100% keen on returning. Not because I don’t like Montana–but instead because I like it too much. For a variety of reasons, returning there to live does not seem plausible. So, going back seemed like setting an ice cream sundae in front of someone who’s just been told they are lactose intolerant. WHY DO IT?
But once all was said and done, I had a great time and am glad we went. I am also glad to be home. :) And somehow, bonus, I actually lost weight while I was gone! I have no idea how that happened.
Speaking of, did anyone else see Monique’s Fat Chance? Am I the only one who found it odd? I mean, I am all for people feeling good about themselves, etc. but the “how to find a fried chicken place anywhere” bits seemed a little strange. It was like she was saying it was good to be fat–let’s celebrate being fat. Let’s get fatter. I hate to tell her, but I have been fat and I have been skinny and skinny is way better. Not to mention healthier. (I’m not talking model skinny which is a WHOLE other can of beans–or maybe that’s just one bean considering what they must eat/or not.) So, anyway I thought it went a tad over the top on the “Yay!! We are fat” thing. Maybe it was just me.
Now for writing. I took two weeks off. Completely off. This was weird for me, but good, I think. Writing was becoming a chore–something I was plodding through. Since I’ve been back I’ve been working on revisions of a proposal and it is so much more fun. I think I needed the break. And soon I will have full days to write without children constantly interrupting, or not interrupting which can be just as disturbing, especially when you hear water running…and running…and running. I’ve already worked out a plan and I’m really looking forward to implementing it. :)

Zombie Moon

Welcome back.
Sounds like you needed a break. Whenever your writing becomes a chore remember your readers!!! I loved Unbound and am looking forward to more, more, more.
