I'm going to go with the old standby and say it probably depends. I actually bought a critique by Sean at our local conference--then he very nicely told me he'd give me another one. :)
But, I'm sure if editors were constantly getting such requests they would have to say no. Editors are amazingly busy.
I'd just ask the editor in question, but be really understanding if they don't have the time.

I have a question, how eager are editors/agents to help with contests? Such as your contest you have in which your editor will read the first chapter? Do you find they will generally go along with that? Or do most not, thinking if they have to do it for one, they'll have to do it for all? Thanks!
