This is going to be one of those hodge podge what’s going on with me posts–you have been warned. ;-)
First, I am revising Hell Hound and I am very happy to report I am not hating it. Always a good thing. In fact I started the sex scene this morning, and thought–hey, this is good, hot. Wonder who wrote it? Little joke there, but for you writers out there, you ever do that? Read something you wrote, and think I don’t remember writing this and it’s good–or don’t remember it being good when I wrote it. I do that all the time. It’s a bit freaky, but much better than remembering every word and thinking each and every one completely sucks pond water. (sigh)
I also want to announce I have a new favorite coffee. You were all dying to hear that weren’t you? It’s Scottish Mist from Steep & Brew. I was going to provide you with a link to order it, but for some reason they don’t have it on their site–their loss right? Think of the millions of pounds of coffee they would have sold–so sad.
And finally, last night I had dinner with one of my very first critique partners, Sandy Cody. Sandy and I were in Guppies (chapter of Sisters in Crime) together. Guppies had (may still have) a great critique group program. What I didn’t realize at the time was how lucky we were to find each other. We all worked really well together and everyone was a good writer. I’m sure you have all suffered through painful CP experiences. To be hooked up with a good group right out of the gate was a real blessing. That manuscript is still gathering dust in my hard drive. It’s a chick litty type mystery. Some day maybe I will dust it off and send it somewhere…
Anyway, Sandy is in town for Bouchercon. I really wish I could have gone, but 1.) I waited too long and it was sold out and 2.) I don’t have the $$ anyway. I know, almost as sad as Steep & Brew missing out on the gazillions of sales from being mentioned on this blog.
On other fronts, I’m blogging at Romance Unleashed today. I did a review of Writer’s Digest which I used to love, but lately have been a bit bored with. Then on Saturday I’m blogging at Romancing the Blog. I’m talking about the Mean Girls of the Internet–good, bad? You tell me.
Till later!!
Lori
