It has been a busy few days–life kind of stuff…doctor appointments, birthday parties, and other such stuff. I had very little time for writing which is particularly annoying because I am SO CLOSE to being done. I should have been done today, but I may or may not make it.
Ah, well. That’s life–right?
On a more annoying note, the Romance Unleashed blog got hit by some trickster yesterday. We were using a plug-in that allowed readers to add their own entries for polls. Someone with an IP address from Florida (although it may be a fake IP) entered some code that automatically redirected our URL to Google. Not a big deal and not hard to fix, but come on? What is the purpose? Don’t you have a better way to get your jollies?
The author of the plug-in already knew he had a security issue, I just didn’t know it. Anyway, no more allowing people to enter their own choices.
This same trickster had tried pulling his mischief by doing the same thing in a comment, but WordPress is too smart for that and blocks any suspicious code.
Anywho, if you are using any plugins that allow readers to input data–make sure they are written properly and don’t allow code that can screw you up. It was two second fix, but I did have to figure out what had happened.
