The original mockup for the cover showed the woman from head to toe, and it really threw me when I got the finalized version -- I actually thought part of the image had gotten cut off. My editor told me that was considered more "edgy." I have to admit I was a little dubious of that, but it's interesting to see all three comments so far vote for the first one. Granted, my cover shows about as much as the second one, but it's also got a lot of shadow going on. So it's good to know that the faceless approach isn't just a crazy notion of the marketing department; it does appeal to readers.
