I’ve heard great things about her books but I’ve yet to have a chance to read her. I think I may take a trip to the bookstore.
Do you read dark stuff, Valeen? I like the Paige books best–they aren’t quite as dark as the werewolf books. Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic. :) Hey, and Kelley Armstrong is Canadian!
She isn’t romance. One of the Paige books–the first one has some definite romantic elements and Haunted which is about a ghost has definite romantic elements. Her first book which is a werewolf book also has a romance subplot–and I love the hero of that one. He is the classic tortured hero. Bad guy who is only good for heroine, and loves her desperately.
The books are more adventure or mystery though with romance as a sideline. The first book Bitten is by far the darkest, but none of them are as dark as Kim Harrison who I also really like. Kim Harrison gives me nightmares–but in a good way.
So…I’m going to say darker than Kenyon or Feehan, but someone else might disagree with me.

Well, the ending is happy, but not necessarily ever after. There is always the threat of something else bad to come. All the books are related and it is the nature of their world. :)

The name for this blog came from a conversation I had with a friend who referred to life as a published author as "life on the bubble". And it's true; you are always on the bubble–lines close, life gets in the way, and the market changes. You can never settle in and feel secure–so there you are sitting on that darn bubble and hoping it doesn’t burst right under your…you know. But for all that, it's a great gig and I'm thrilled to have a shot at it.

And is she primarily romance? Or just a side of romance?
