I’m addicted…

To VH1 reality TV.

I know. That is embarrassing, isn’t it? But don’t knock it till you try it.

It started innocently enough with Kept the story of Jerry Hall looking for a young American man to be her “kept” man. I mean, who could resist that? Then there was Strip Search–the search for male strippers to star in a Las Vegas version of The Thunder Down Under. Great for research. But now it’s gone past that. I’ve discovered: Tommy Lee (goes to college), Gene Simmon’s rock school (Gene goes to a private school in Britain where he teaches a class on being a rock star), and Celebrity Fit Club (hey, it’s inspirational). I have even glanced at Hogan Knows Best and The Surreal Life (okay, this last one is pushing it even for a reality TV junkee like me.

So, am I the only one? You know admitting your problem is the first step. But really, how else can we make it until the fall when the real schedule begins. Yeah, I’m already planning: American Idol, Survivor, America’s Next Top Model, and oh, so many more…Forget raking leaves! This is the best part of fall. :)

Gotta go–there’s something new on TV

  1. I love reality television. I haven’t kept up with VH1’s offerings much, but I used to watch Surreal Life last season. I tend to watch Real World faithfully, and I’ve spent the summer watching the two dance competition shows. Even recap and review some shows for various sites.

  2. Oh, I forgot about the dance programs. I’ve been watching them too. Not as good as American Idol though. And I agree, MTV has some good reality shows. I had that on while cooking dinner–I’m back on VH1 though. Pimp My Ride is on.
    I am sick, sick, sick…

  3. No, not as good American Idol, but good enough for the long summer months. Pimp my Ride makes me laugh a lot. Don’t get me started on the end result of Dancing with the Stars. I still steam over that! By the way, hi. I’m one of your lurkers coming out of hiding.

  4. LOL! My husband has been watching the Tommy Lee show. He just cracks up at it.

  5. Okay, you know I’m a reality tv junkie, and I am LOVING Tommy Lee goes to college. It’s hilarious.
I can’t wait for the new Survivor. I’m not that excited about American Idol this time, because I will miss my beloved Bo. Sigh.
    :)

  6. Yeah, I thought Tommy Lee would be a complete jerk, but he is kind of endearing. The producers are totally setting him up and he seems to be trying really hard.
Anyone watching INXS? I watched it last night and thought for the most part the performances were really good.
Hey, and where is Bo? He got a contract, right?

  7. I think I’m going to have to check the Tommy Lee show out. I’ve been addicted to Rock Star: INXS lately, and I’ll be right there when American Idol and Survivor come back. And I never miss an episode of Dog, The Bounty Hunter.

  8. Okay, so there is one reality show I haven’t seen yet–Dog. I’m not a complete junkie. I have seen it advertised though, and now that you have recommended it…
